Shelley, Jan & team warmly invite you to come & meet internationally acclaimed contemporary artist PHILIP GRAY on SATURDAY 5TH DECEMBER 12PM – 3PM – Philip will be celebrating the launch of of a magnificent collection of Original Paintings, Pastels & Collectable Limited Editions. Whilst in the gallery Philip will give a talk & a live painting demonstration at 2pm. The finished piece will be raffled in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Charity -(Please call the gallery for more details) Mulled Wine & mince pies will be served

AUTUMN 2009 – PREVIEW WEEKEND AT SMART GALLERY!

SMART Gallery are very excited to announce that there will be a special preview weekend from 5pm on Thursday 8th October – 5pm Sunday 11th October. This will be the first exhibition in the new look SMART Gallery and we hope that you can all be there!! There will be a special preview of all the AUTUMN 2009 New Releases to the SMART Gallery and also an introduction to a fantastic new portfolio of artists. Visit the gallery for bubbly and bits and for every purchase over £250 throughout the preview weekend we will be rewarding you with a gift card which can be used against any future purchases. We really hope to see you there!!

Don’t forget about the late night opening in the Redbrick Mill on Thursday til 8pm!!

New Look SMART Gallery

SMART Gallery have made changes! We want to make your experience with us as full and varied as we possibly can! Our www.smartgallery.co.uk site is currently being updated with our new artists and artwork available in the Redbrick Mill, Batley gallery and will allow our clients to view and buy from the comfort of their own homes! This site will be updated with all new Original and Limited Edition artwork as we expand the gallery so make sure that you check us out as regularly as you can! We will also update any news and events in the gallery and will be happy to receive any feedback from you as we value your opinion – particularly in this time of change!

In addition to this site we also have our sister website www.smartgallery.net which will showcase the wider range of Limited Edition Art and Sculpture which is available to us – if you like what you see simply contact us and we will make the piece available for you to buy through our www.smartgallery.co.uk site which will give you the benefit of our free UK delivery service, or, we will arrange for the piece to be brought to the gallery for you to view and buy in person – whichever is most convenient! Let us do the hard work!

We are very excited at SMART GALLERY about the exciting new direction in which our Redbrick Mill, Batley gallery is heading and we are confident that you will be too! We want our valued clients to take the first steps with us and value your feedback along the way. What’s new at Smart Gallery? Come and have a look.  We are concentrating all efforts solely on our flagship store at Redbrick Mill, Batley. The home of fine décor, great food, late night opening on a Thursday & free parking. 

Plus instead of being dedicated to just one main publisher, we will be introducing to our clients the finest art from all sources.

Our hugely popular artist, Christina Harris has kindly agreed to be our artist of the month for May! Christina has proven to be a favourite artist for a number of years now with her work a regular feature within our Redbrick Mill, Batley gallery. Here’s what Christina has to say;

Q. –  What is your full name? (embarrassing middle names included please)

A. –  Christina Mary Harris

 

Q. – Marital Status?

A. – Married

 

Q. – Who or what inspires you?

A.  – A sense of achievement when a painting is completed

 

Q. – When did you decide you wanted to be a full time artist?

A. –October 2003

 

Q. – Where do you work?

A. – I have a workroom at home

 

Q. – Describe a typical working day.

A. -  Don’t have one as I work as and when I feel like it.  Always start the day with a walk, though.  Can start work anytime between 10 and late evening.  Sometimes work into the night if I’m in the mood or I’m extra busy.

 

Q. – If you weren’t an artist what job would you do?

A. – Writer

 

Q. – What is your greatest achievement both privately and professionally?

A. –  Maintaining friendships

 

Q. – Do you have any pets?

A. – One husband

 

Q. – What is your favourite colour?

A. – Duck egg blue

 

Q. – What is your favourite food?

A. –  Fish with parsley sauce and carrots

 

Q. – What is your favourite drink?

A. –  port and lemon

GOVINDER NAZRAN COMMEMORATIVE EXHIBITION

Govinder Commemorative Exhibition, Leeds

 

 

SMART Gallery, Leeds will be holding a commemorative exhibition of Govinder art work for one week commencing the Saturday 25th April in memory of this truly gifted artist. The exhibition will consist of sold out pieces of artwork and sculpture and Govinder originals and will run on a first come first served basis as stock is extremely limited! If any pieces are unsold at the end of the week they will be moved to our Batley or Harrogate galleries but please do not miss this opportunity to view and potentially become the proud owner of some fabulous artwork from the late Govinder.
